Carpool Your Way with ConnectSmart

Excited to participate in the Mobility Games: Carpool Edition, the last week of August, but not sure how to get started with carpooling in the ConnectSmart app? We’ve got you covered. ConnectSmart makes it easy to coordinate your ride, track your trip, and earn rewards—all from your phone. 

Follow this step-by-step guide to learn how to use Instant Carpool, one of the easiest ways to carpool with people you know.

Step 1: Download the ConnectSmart App 📱

Head to your app store and download ConnectSmart Mobility for Android or iPhone. Once downloaded, create your account.

Step 2: Start Your Carpool 🚗

Next time you’re sharing a ride, everyone in the vehicle should open the ConnectSmart app. Then:

1. Tap the Carpool button on the landing page.

2. Select Instant Carpool.

Drivers:

Enter your trip details (starting point and destination). The app will generate a QR code.

Riders:

Scan the driver’s QR code using your ConnectSmart app to check in for the ride, and your driver will start the trip.

That’s it—you’re on your way, and your carpool trip will be logged!

Scheduled Carpool:

If you prefer matching with a driver or rider from one of your groups for a pre-planned carpool, join a carpool group to get ready to take a scheduled carpool.👥

From the Carpool page in the app, join one of our Austin-based public carpool groups:

• Central ATX / Downtown

• North ATX

• East Austin

• South ATX

• San Marcos

• Bastrop

• Northwest ATX

• Northeast ATX

• SE ATX/Del Valle / Airport

• Southwest ATX

• RoundRock / Hutto / Georgetown

Then, post a carpool request as a driver or rider and wait for the system to find you a possible match to send an invite to.
